Tortuguita

January 18, 2023, Manuel “Tortuguita” Paez Teran was killed by a firing squad in a multi-agency police raid and clearing of the Weelaunee Forest. Tortuguita was a beloved forest defender and medic, who coordinated mutual aid and helped build housing in low income communities hit hardest by Hurricane Nicole, in Florida.
