Kids Of Weelaunee

To chronicle the efforts of the kids, families and educators of the Weelaunee Coalition, I created this zine.

Featuring Muscogee Mekko Chebon Kernell. Led by my dear friend Rukia Monique Rogers, founding member of the Weelaunee Coalition and founder of The Highlander School, an anti-bias and anti-racist nature centered learning community in East Atlanta. Included are excerpts of her article for Exchange Press, Growing Our Sense of Place and Kinship with the Land along with photos by her, Jesse Pratt Lopez and myself, along with original writings by my child Violet, and their friends Emelia Burney and Sophia Oliver students from the Morgan Oliver School, an independent anti-racist, elementary school in Kirkwood, founded by Sanidia Oliver.
